you know, all this civil revolt thing has put a lot of things into perspective. a lot of things that would have riled me a week or so ago don’t even affect me these days. not when i’ve achieved this zen state of mind.
tell you what. if riot police aren’t shooting rubber bullets at your head (and occasionally poking out an eye) just because you’re at the wrong place at the wrong time, you don’t have problems. and neither do i, really.
just sayin… nothing’s certain. there may come a time and a place where you’re just forced to grow a layer of elephant skin. so try not to be so rattled by every little bump on your path.
because the moment problems really start arising is when you just wake up one day, open your eyes, and suddenly become aware of your surroundings—and the evils around them. kinda like how it’s not just enough when people just tell you there’s children starving in africa; you have to see it and feel the impact to believe it.
so, until then… don’t worry. there’s a lot of crap in the world, and you can bet your ass someone already beat you to ‘having a shitty life’.
also, this video on vice.uk — please watch. it’s more insider info and very informative of what’s been going on.
there’s a lot of this that still hasn’t caught media attention yet.

NOTHING NEW ON THE WESTERN FRONT by mine baş bayar
For the last six days now the people of this country have adapted to a rather strange lifestyle. In the mornings, people shave, put on their makeup, douse themselves in perfume and go to work or school or wherever; and in the evenings, they flock to squares, gas masks in hand. If they can’t go, they take to their windows and start clattering pots and pans together. Some take it upon themselves to carry munitions to Gezi park. You’d think it were a utopia.
